what does it mean if a divorce is dismissed for want of prosecution

Are you the party who initialized the divorce proceedings?

No my husband did

Customer,

Thanks for your quick reply. Dismissal without prejudice means the court is dismissing the case but you can still refile it, its not permanently dismissed. Lack of prosecution means whoever filed for the divorce failed to properly act on the divorce, meaning they did not file the proper documents, etc and proceed with the divorce. You are still married. If you want to get divorced you need to refile the petition all over again, same thing.

Sincerely,

soloprac
