I have to pay my first spousal support payment Dec 1. The judgement

Resolved Question:

I have to pay my first spousal support payment Dec 1. The judgement came down on the 25th Nov. How much time do I have to pay it in Arizona . Also I intend to appeal so how does that affect my requirement to pay? Do I have to pay or not If in appeal?

The payment is due on Dec. 1. If you appeal, you can also file a supersedes bond which can stay the payment of alimony while the appeal is pending.

So if It takes 2-3 weeks to file appeal I will not be in contempt in the mean time?

It won't take that long to file the notice of appeal, and you'll be required to post the bond or pay the alimony at that time.

If you don't have a bond approved by the court by the time the first payment is due, you need to go ahead and pay it under protest.
