High risk patient 81 yr female, in remission uterin/lung cancer, have pacemaker, 1 damaged kidney 3rd stage kidney failure, blocked curotid arteries in 80% area, started ear infection, ultra sound found mastoid disease, cannot operate, ent dr. gave me months of oral antibiotics, eardrops, gave up said no answer. sent me to I.D. Dr., she gave me three infusions of two new antibiotics. no help. ENT dr. just sent me to a Dr. top specialist in ear surgery and more. He took out a can't think of name...stuff drained thru it..other ear it was missing. he put a patch over the holes in both eardrums. Now my nose is clear but my head feel stuffed up and headachey like I have a bad cold.I cannot hear well and my voice sound crackly and nasal. This Dr. is in only two days a week. cannot reach him. What is your opinion as to why i am stuffed up though nostrils clear and eyes feel puffy. ??

This is Dr. David

you could still be having mastoiditis inflammation of the mastoid air spaces

you might need longer course of oral or IV antibiotics to treat your mastoiditis inflammation.

your voice can sound different once you have a drain
