When I look at my LED computer monitor screen either reading

Customer Question

When I look at my LED computer monitor screen either reading or forms like a square or something round for example.
After looking at those figures on my screen when I move my eyes away from them I still see what I would call a shadow of what I was previously looking at for sometimes a few seconds before it goes away.
Is this normal ?

Yes this can be quite normal.

You do need an eye exam to rule out problems such as astigmatism.

Thank you for your response but unfortunately I would prefer to have it answered by an Ophthalmologist just in case there's something else I should know.

Hi. My name is***** and I am online and available to help you today. Thank you for your patience.

Question and answer is just one of the services I offer. I can also provide you with premium services, such as live telephone or skype consultation, at a small additional cost. Let me know if you are interested.

I am an ophthalmologist.

How long has this been going on for?

Do you have any other problems with your vision, like glare at night etc?

Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Is this the same in both eyes (test one at a time)?
Does it come and go with blinking?

Do you have any other medical problems or take any medications?

This is not an answer, but an Information Request. I need this information to answer your question. Please reply, so I can answer your question. I look forward to helping you.
