Doctor's Assistant: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?

I had two episodes a week apart lasting no more than 10 seconds. I had an eKG and blood work all normal. My BP was a bit elevated but I was really scared at the time. I am on Lisinorpil 20mg for bp

Can you tell me more about your double vision? Eye pain? How old are you? Are you male or female? How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Any weight change? Any other symptoms? Are you aware of anything which might have triggered it? Any other medical problems? Any surgeries? Any other medications including over-the-counter pills and herbs? Any family medical history?

How was the double vision like? Is your stress increased lately? Are you worried that it is due to a blood clot? Could you see when you had the double visions?

Hello

You need further work up

This could be a mini stroke

A hormonal problem , either adrenal or thyroid.

I would see an internal medicine doctor and neurologist if needed.

Ask your doctor specifically about pheochromacytoma, which is an adrenal problem that causes these symptoms.

Serum metanephrines is the blood test to do

Along with thyroid studies.

OK, so that is an initial answer….

Please use reply to expert if you have further questions. When you are ready, please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent]. If you forgot something, come back. I am here daily.

I am under a ton of stress at work and at home. I'm not worried about a blood clot more a brain tumor to be honest. I have pressure near my eyes, ears and nose has off and on sharp pains on the right side of the bridge of my nose. The dizziness starts with a tightness on my bottom eye lid then a bit dizzy then things get foggy/ a bit double and it all last about 10 seconds. This happened to me one other time about 13 years ago but I never saw anyone for it.

I don't think you read my answer.

This is still consistent with either an adrenal problem or thyroid problem.

Please read my answer above again.

You need

serum metanephrines

thyroid studies

neurological exam

sed rate

all routine labs

urinalysis.

please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent]. If you forgot something, come back. I am here daily.

Eye Doctor: DrRussMD, Board Certified Physician replied 2 years ago

They did not check serum metanephrines

and probably not thyroid

and probably not sed rate

these are not routine.

Yes you should still be concerned.

Ask about serum metanephrines.

please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent]. If you forgot something, come back. I am here daily.
