I have a question. I feel asleep semi prone with my glasses

Customer Question

I have a question. I feel asleep semi prone with my glasses on. I woke up 20 minutes ago with my right vision slightly blurry, especially with near vision.. with and without glasses. Otherwise no pain. No gritty sensation in my eyes. Should I go to the ER now or this will get better in a few hours?

This is Dr. David

falling asleep can cause you to have sleepy eyes and mucus in your eyes which can cause some slight blurry vision when you wake up.

I bet your vision will clear up in a few minutes

you could have been pressing on your eyes with the pillow or something when you were sleeping.

I would give it 1-2 hours and I bet your vision will clear up.

you can try washing your face to see if that helps.

blood clots or TIAs or transient ischemic attacks or blood clots at your age of 30 would be super super super unlikely

let me know if you have questions.
