I'm sorry to hear about the accident. You've done the right thing so far. Ample amounts of water are what is needed. By ample, we mean allow the water to run directly into the eye from the faucet for a good solid minute or two.

If the discomfort doesn't improve, head to the ER. The eyes may feel a little scratchy and that's ok but if any visual loss or increasing discomfort, head for help.

Usually the abundant water wash is good enough.
