Customer Question

I am a 22 year old female. For the last 2-3 years, I've been waking up with crossed eyes/ double vision. In the beginning, it would only last about 5 minutes (usually gone by the time I finish brushing my teeth). These days, it lasts 15-30 minutes in the morning and then clears up. The problem also occurs now when I wake up from naps (at any time of the day) and when I'm in a boring lecture/presentation. In the beginning, there were very rare epsidoes where my eyes would not correct and would stay crossed for hours or even all day. In the past year, these episodes have become occasional rather than rare. I have perfect 20-20 vision and never had these problems as a child. However, I do remember a handful of times when I woke up with double vision as a child but it must have cleared up quickly because I never pursued it futher.

You need to see a neurologist, or have you done this?

If so, what tests?
