Doctor DanB : Hello and thanks for your question. Are you available to chat?

did you read my discription on my problem

Doctor DanB : Yes, I did. When there is a sudden or abrupt change in vision like this that is accompanied by a visual distortion, this is usually a sign of a problem with the retina. For this reason, I would make an appointment to see your ophthalmologist. Does that make sense?

I agree with Dr. Dan. You should obtain an appointment from your ophthalmologist soon. Distortions in one eye vs the other are strong indications of potential problems which should be carefully examined. Your eye doctor will perform several tests including a dilated eye exam to determine potential problems. One simple test is an Amsler Grid which I have linked below. This grid will help describe the distortions you notice. We look for distorted, missing, wavy, or bro***** *****nes as you look at the grid with one eye from 30 cm away.

Good luck with everything.

Regarding your last question, retinal problems would include macular degeneration, diabetes, and other common eye concerns.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

with my right eye it stayed as a chart. nothing, with my left eye it got all distorted and actually moves around and reshapes it was a little weird. So do you think this is a serius problem and what kind of timeframe can I wait to get an eye exam?

Changes to the grid can be due to something relatively minor like a wrinkle in the back of the eye or they may be due to serious complications from macular degeneration. It is impossible to know without an examination. I recommend obtaining one soon; early this week if possible. Most often the concerns are not serious, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
