Dr-Trace :

Hi I am Dr. Lewis and I would like to answer your question.

Dr-Trace :

Can you tell me how your vision is in your eye?

Customer:

My vision is normal, its just the burning that is worrying me.

Dr-Trace :

Do you have an ophthalmologist that you see for normal eye examinations?

Customer:

no

Dr-Trace :

OK I have just done a search on cactus sap in the eye. I can cause a keratoconjunctivitis - which is an inflammation of the surface of the eye. Since you have irrigated the eye and rinsed with tears and your eye is still burning, I think you will need some treatment.

Customer:

OK Thanks, I have had keratocojunctavitis before so I dont want it again so I shall take myself off to the hospital. Thanks

Dr-Trace :

I don't think you need to go to the hospital. There are quite a few emergency care centers that are adequate.

Customer:

Could you please give me a list please

Dr-Trace :

They are simple to find. Either look on your computer or phone book for walk-in emergency 24 hour care. I don't know where you are located but most are staffed by local primary care docs.

Customer:

Thanks for your help. I shall do that now. Over and out. Glenys

Dr-Trace :

Glad I could be of help. Let me know how you make out.
