Thank you for accepting but I have not answered your question yet. What would you like to know?

No- eye pressure is not related to blood pressure. Eye pressure can be high because of many different reasons- most commonly glaucoma. Some other causes are related to other ocular issues such as inflammation, post operatively, infection, trauma, etc. If you have had no other issues, your doctors will want to evaluate you for ocular hypertension or glaucoma. Ocular hypertension is a situation where like blood pressure, the eye pressure is high. This condition can progress and cause glaucoma in the future. Studies have found that if we decrease the pressure earlier there will be less risk of a patient developing glaucoma.
