Customer Question

My 86 year old mother had to have her eye removed due to a staph infection and a detached retina. Fluid behind the retina of her remaining eye means she now can't see. They put a ping pong ball like thing in the eye that was removed and she can have an ocular prosthetic. She is essentially blind. She doesn't really want the prosthetic. Is it necessary for health reasons or just cosmetic?
