Customer Question

I recentlt met with an eye surgeon and he seems to not like the idea of installing Jones tubes in my eyes to drain into my nose or mouth. It is difficult for me as I have quite a bit of tear coming out of my eyes. I am in very good health and my appearence does not reflect my 81 yrs. I would appreciate any advice you could give and any disadvantages of this procedure. Thanking you in advance, I am, Daniel Ortone.

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

We can not use emails on this system but we can chat on this page

Dr. Rick :

That's fine, I just want to know if this procedure is done succesfully in general and if I should look for another surgeon.

Dr. Rick :

Yes, it is done with great success in many, many cases. I even did one when I was in my residency training.....not to say that it is an easy procedure, but oculoplastics docs do it many times and it works.

Dr. Rick :

I'd look for another, perhaps more experienced, surgeon who can look past the number of birthdays you've had and see how much the watering of your eyes is bothering you.
