Hello & welcome to Just Answer!

If you have any questions after reading my answer, be sure to let me know.

If there is discharge and swelling with redness of the affected eye, then your son might be having an eye infection or conjunctivitis. He needs antibiotic eye drops after an examination by his doctor. Keep the discharge cleaned from the eye as far as possible with sterile wet cotton. You can use lubricating eye drops like optive/geneteal etc to keep the eye clean of discharge (available over the counter).
