My 5 year old daughter has a bump under her eye that looks

Customer Question

My 5 year old daughter has a bump under her eye that looks to be a clogged duct or allergy irritation? I was informed it is Chalazion and to use warm compresses daily and wash with a tear free soap. So far, we are not seeing any improvements in the swelling. Any new suggestions?

Dr. Rick :

Hi. I'm online and happy to answer your question today.

Dr. Rick :

how long have you been trying the warm compresses and lid scrubs?

Dr. Rick :

Let me answer that last question: We last chatted Jan 12, so you've been doing the lid scrubs and warm soaks for about 3 weeks now. Have the bumps changed at all, perhaps from being more diffuse to just a hard, localized lump?

Dr. Rick :

are you available to chat? My system shows that you are in the chat room

Dr. Rick :

You must have stepped away from your computer.........

Are you still interested in working on this question? Would you prefer that I "opt out" so you can chat with on of the other ophthalmologists on the system? I'd be happy to do what ever you would like, just let me know.
