Dr. James :

Wind does not cause infections of the eyes. It can cause irritation with crusting of the lids, tearing, or itching, which can mimic an infection. Because the underlying cause is irritation, artificial tears over the counter helps with any discomfort. If you have a history of eye allergies, an over the counter medicine such as Zaditor twice a day may be of some help.
