Hello,

Thank you for the reply

It is most likely to be a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. The small blood vessels in the white of the eye get ruptured in this condition , either due to severe coughing/sneezing/subtle trauma/in those who are on blood thinning drugs like aspirin. It usually takes 2 weeks to disappear and tends to change color and may become more dark before disappearing. It does not require any treatment. For soothening effect though and for the occasional watering of eyes , you can put lubricating eye drops like Refresh tears eye drops , 1 drop 4 times a day.

If symptoms do not disappear by 2 weeks or you develope any pain/ photophobia/reduced vision, then you need to consult an ophthalmologist for detailed eye check up.

Thanks and best wishes
