Resolved Question:

I poked my eye with a tree branch while mowing the lawn. I figured I scratched my cornea, so I made a eye patch and covered the eye. Is there something else I could do besides going to the Doc?

Welcome to Just Answer

You have done the right thing by patching the eye which is the correct thing to do for a corneal abrasion. Usually it heals within 24 hours as new tissue grows within that time. An antibiotic eye drop is usually started as there could be a risk of infection as the injury is from a tree branch. You can continue with the eye patch and analgesic till you visit your eye doctor. Lubricating eye drops like Refresh tears will give soothening effect ( OTC).

Thanks and best wishes
