Welcome to Just Answer

If you have a blood shot eye ( not a pink eye) , without any other symptoms like pain, watering , photophobia, then it is most likely to be a sub-conjunctival haemorrhage in which the small blood vessels in the conjunctiva rupture . It can occur due to excessive coughing/sneezing/subtle trauma/ or apparently without any reason especially in hypertensive individuals.

It generally does not require any treatment as it resolves on its own within 7-10 days. In the meanwhile it changes color and may become more dark, and eventually disappear.

For soothening effect you may instill Refresh tears eye drops ,1drop 4 times a day.

Thanks and best wishes
