I am a 65 year old male with generally very good health

Resolved Question:

Hi, I am a 65 year old male with generally very good health ("never sick"). A couple of days ago I got periodically blurred vision and dizzieness with focusing problems. There is no pain or any other symptoms, but the periodically eye problem persists. I will contact my doctor as soon as possible, but can you tell me something till then?
Best regards,
Einar Bjerkan ***@******.***

Welcome to Just Answer

Do you have any pain in that eye? Is there any redness or photophobia?

Are you hypertensive or diabetic?

Do you wear glasses or contact lenses?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

No pain, redness or photophobia.

Not hypertensive (I think) My blood glucose is 5,5 mmol

I use glasses 2,0 only when reading for the last 25 years

Hello Einar Bjerkan,

Thanks for replying.

Since you do not have any other associated eye symptom, you need do get a detailed retina examination done. If retina is found to be normal , it could be migraine( may or maynot be associated with headache), carotid artey occlusive disease. It can also occur in early papilloedema( swollen optic nerve head due to raised intracranial pressure), optic disc drusen.

A near correction for reading of + 2.00 is much less for your age. A +3.00 would be more appropriate if you are finding difficulty while reading of late. But if you are comfortable with your present correction, you can continue with the same.

You can discuss the above with your eye specialist in your visit.

Thanks and best wishes
