Keratoconus is a condition of the eye in which the shape of the cornea is changed and is more conical than normal. It leads to refractive error with difficulty in distance vision, near also if severe ( either due to high astigmatism or due to corneal clouding( acute hydrops). It usually starts at puberty and progresses and becomes stationary.

It is usually bilateral though may be asymmetrical.

Early cases can be treated with spectacles. Other options are Contact lenses RGP.

Severe cases may require surgery like Epikeratoplasty or even Penetrating Keratoplasty.
