It appears that the left eye strain caused mild inflammation your left eye muscle, and so fatigue, making the left eye not team-up properly with the better right eye during focusing. It is likely that there is underlying convergence and/or accomodative insufficiency in the ability of both eyes to co-ordinate systematically. I suggest that you try pencil push-up exercises in order to strengthen your eye muscles ability to converge and/or diverge.
The way you do pencil push-up is to hold out the pencil-tip in front of you at arms length, then focus on the tip of the pencil, and slowly move it toward the tip of your nose until you start seeing double image of the tip of the pencil, then you return to the original arm length position. Continue this exercises several times during the day as needed. The goal is to get to the tip of your nose without seeing double image.
In addition to the Alrex, and I suggest that you use preservative free tear drops (i.e. Refresh Plus or Genteal) one drop into each eye as needed to keep your eyes moist. If you are in the habit of using visine or clear eyes to get rid of eye redness, I suggest that you stop using it. I trust that you will do well.
