From the description of your symptoms the possibilities of burning in your right eye can be due to -
- a foreign body in your eye might have caused irritation like a dust particle, insect etc.
- increase in pressure of the eye. This can occur if the cataract is mature
- inflammation or uveitis
- starting of viral infection like herpes
I would advise you to wash your eye thoroughly and instill the lubricating eye drops frequently i.e. after every 1 minute initially, then after 5 minutes, then after 1/2 hour ........ If your symptoms improve, then the cause is mostly a mild irritation caused by a foreign body. But if there is no relief or the symptoms worsen, then you need to consult an Ophthalmologist for a first hand evaluation to rule out the above possibilities.
