Resolved Question:

Today while I was at work my 3yr old poked her eye with a pencil. She poked the white of the eye next to the round brown part. Where she poked it, it is very red looks like a red blood dot. I asked her if it hurts and she says no. Should I take her to get it checked?

The white part of the eye (conjunctiva) usually heals very well. Minor scratches need no treatment (it will look red like a bruise). The bruise will clear up in a few days. Unless she has pain, decreased vision or drainage, you are OK to just watch for now.

I hope this helps and thank you.
