It can be a chalazion. This occurs when oil glands in your eyelids get blocked, very similar to a pimple. Early on treatment is to apply warm compresses to the area 3-4 times a day. This helps to soften the blocked oils and allows it to self drain.

If it's been there 3-4 weeks, the material is likely hardened enough that warm compresses won't help. In that case, your ophthalmologist can incise it and drain it in the office with local numbing medicine.
