My seven year old daughter had vision acuity test yesterday

Resolved Question:

My seven year old daughter had vision acuity test yesterday and her results are 20/400 in each eye. Has prescription for lenses, but I am worried sick about this. Is there any type of surgery that can be performed to improve this situation. She was born 6 weeks premature and incubated for 3 weeks. Does this have any bearing on her low vision?

Your daughter could be having amblyopia which may show improvement after treatment. This much of information is inadequate to comment upon it. She needs a dilated fundus examination to rule out any retinopathy of prematurity. If fundus is alright, she may improve after amblyopia treatment. You need to take her to an ophthalmologist.Thanks.
