I had a pain in my right eye for two days. In the morning

This answer was rated:

I had a pain in my right eye for two days.   In the morning the pain is mild, but as
evening comes, the pain comes back. The white of eye was slightly pink most of the
day but I was just getting ready for bed and now my eye is really red. My vision is okay.
I am borderline diabetic. I take the following medication:

Plavix 75 mg, baclofen 10 mg, hydroxychoroquine 200 mg, lipitor 10mg, dilt-xr 240 mg, metoprolol succer 50 mg, alendronate sodium 70 mg and asprin 325 mg.

Can I take anything to ease the pain?

Thank you for your help.
Pain in single eye can be due to -
- glaucoma (specially in diabetics) - this is increase in pressure of the eye
- uveitis - inflammation in the eye
- foreign body in the eye
- a mild viral eye flu
You need to be evaluated by an Ophthalmologist to rule out the above possibilities and start treatment. In the meantime you can take an oral anti-inflammatory like tylenol/ibuprofen. Apply cold compresses with ice on the closed eye lid and put lubricating eye drops like systane/optive/genteal etc (available OTC) in the eye.
