Burning eyes with soreness, watering, mild redness are due to mostly eye allergy or allergic conjunctivitis.
This is common in summers or change of season. She would need a detailed evaluation by an Ophthalmologist for prescribing eye drops
You can give her-
- oral antihistaminic like benadryl
- apply cold compresses like ice or cotton dipped in cold water on her eyelids
- anti-inflammatory eye drops like zaditor (available over the counter) will also help in relieving some of the symptoms.

what about the blurry vision?
Expert:  Dr. PG replied 8 years ago.
The blurry vision can occur in allergic conjunctivitis. This is because the tear film coating the eye becomes, thick and causes intermittent blurring. But if the blurring persists or worsens with severe redness of eyes, then she would need to see an eye doctor early to rule out viral conjunctivitis infection.
