    What you are describing seems like a stye (if the bump is on the eyelid margin). The treatment for this is oral antibiotics, for which you would need to consult a doctor. In the meantime apply warm compresses and take oral anti-inflammatory like tylenol/motrin. Sometimes the stye bursts by itself discharging the pus and causing relief of pain

Can you be a little more specific? Which part of the eye, white portion or black portion. Can you describe the bump - red, elevated etc. Did you have any trauma to the eye? Are you able to open the eye? How is the vision in the affected eye? Any discharge? Kindly specify your age and gender.
