Customer Question

This question should be addressed to s a Travel Agent?or what Specialist? Subject :Airfare for kids who turn 2 years old during trip My son will be turning 2 years old during our round trip to Europe. We are planning to to book a round trip to Leave on
July 30.2015 and come back on September 30,2015. My son will be 2 years old on August 24,2015. Question: if we want to fly with the child "on LAP",without a separate seat, can we do that?Does the age at DEPARTURE matter or the age of the child at RETURN flight?(we
are trying to avoid to pay a ticket for the child ,and book it like "infant on lap). Thank you!

Under airline regulations and international transportation treaties what matter is the age of the traveller at the time of departure of each flight.Your child may travel for free on your lap the departure flight but will have to pay his/her fare on the return flight. Depending on the route you fly, on the type of airline you choose (main stream carrier or low-cost) and its fare structure, it may be cheaper to buy a return ticket for the child than just buy a one-way one for the return flight. You'll need to shop around.
