My father passed away in Nov 2012. He left a house to be split between myself, my sister and my brother. I believe he did a Legal Zoom will. 2 years prior to that my mother, who was still on the deed passed. Just before she died my sister got my mother off the deed and put herself on. So at the time of his passing she was left as the only person on the deed. I took money from an IRA account to remodel the house and currently live in it. I encountered a large tax bill which my sister said we could take a loan on the house to pay, and I would pay that mortgage. This fell through a couple of times and she ended up putting her husband on the deed to increase the credit score and get the loan. The loan was now also going to include a lot of her expenses, which I am not willing to pay. The terms of the will expressly state that no spouses were to be included or involved in the house. Now she is going to attempt to sell the house out from under me, and take a loss from the appraised value to do so. … read more
