Where are you located? : I need someone in Western PA : No :
My father passed away in early April. After my mother passed in 2009, I discovered that my sister in law and brother had my father sign a POA that gave them complete power. Once discovered, I directed my father to an attorney who revoked it. Fast forward 3 years with no contact from either of them and a meeting in this attorney's office where my father upheld the revocation. Within two weeks, my sister in law had my father, in the same attorney's office, revoke the POA that was in place and name her as his POA. In three months, he was declared incompetent and moved into a nursing home. Within six months, his house was sold and all the contents with no notice to me. I have no idea where all his assets are, where all the money is, etc. Apparently, she was also made executor at that time. I asked the attorney if he spoke with my father alone before makng this change and he told me no. … read more
