My mother inherited land from her deceased aunt, meanwhile

Customer Question

my mother inherited land from her deceased aunt, meanwhile my mother died in 1996 and my father was paying the taxes. He died in 2010 and since then I've been paying them. Can I take legal possession? I have two brothers and one sister that are waiting to see what happens if I continue to pursue this.
JA: Since estate law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: Virginia
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: I had a land surveyor and title search person who both of them abandoned me after 4 months. I have the form to change the property into my name along with my siblings haven't sent in yet.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I was able to find the property two years ago. I want to be able to settle everything so I can build on this and sell part to give to my siblings for their share
