Is there a time limit to probate a will? I was supposed to be a co-executor of my mother's will, but my sister never told me that so the will was never probated and the money left to me and my children was never received.
JA: Estate laws vary by state. What state are you in?
Customer: I live in Texas, but my mother lived in Florida.
JA: What documents or supporting evidence do you have?
Customer: I have my mother's will which was registered in the county in which she lived.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I have know that my sister kept my half of the estate, but I never realized until a few months ago that she did not even send eiither of my two children the $1,000.00, that they were left.

According to Florida law there is no time limit to open an estate when an individual has died in Florida. When did your mother pass away?
