My father died last February, his house is now in escrow.

Customer Question

My father died last February, his house is now in escrow. I am the executor. House being sold for 275,000 in California. I am listed as the seller/transferor. Looking at real estate withholding form, am I exempt from withholding taxes because it was the principal residence of decendent?

Good evening. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you. Can you provide me a bit more information? When you refer to your dad dying last February, do you mean Feb. 2015 or Feb. 2016? And, has the property appreciated in value since his death? Thanks.
