My late husband's dad had a 500,000.00 life insurance policy

Customer Question

My late husband's dad had a 500,000.00 life insurance policy that he took out about 20 years ago. I was informed he also took out another life insurance policy out weeks before my husband died. I am sure he put him self as the beneficiary of these. However my daughter and I are the NEXT OF KIN. Do we have no right to any of this money? I know my husband wanted us to have the life insurance policy as he stated this to me several times in the time we were married.
