I live in California and I am being sued and the court date us in September. Will my home be protected if I put it in a irrevocable trust now

An irrevocable trust here would be a great means to try and protect your house given your circumstances. You may decide to do this as a protective measure.


You would create the trust and deed the property into the trust.

In California all homeowners house are protected with a homesteading but I want to be save and put it into an irrevocable trust be the court hearing in September will that be safe to do the home is in my wife's name and the mortgage is in her name also, so mire or less I am trying not to have it taken from her

It would protect it to the max that you can here.Overall it may be a good idea.That way even if one of you deceases they cannot get at it in such a trust.
