I talked with his practitioner Monday 10/26 and she said he was doing good and that he was eating. She told me he had months left not a year, So I started making arangments to go see him took this week and next off from work. Dad told me to drive over because he had stuff he wanted me to have and take back. Well long story short he died this morning at 1:30 am Texas time. So I guess months is actually 3 days, im just blown away I was sure I hade time to talk with him and make sure he had everything setup the way he wanted it.

You are apparently the sole heir under Texas law.

Yes you can phone the Sheriffs and ask them to keep an eye on the place until you arrive and make the necessary arrangements to have yourself appointed as administrator of the Estate.

You can get a free consultation from some of the local probate attorneys listed here.

Please follow up on this with a local attorney.

I hope this information is helpful.
