My adopted dad just passed away 3 weeks ago and he left some

Customer Question

My adopted dad just passed away 3 weeks ago and he left some things for me, his successor trustee already told me what am entitle to. I called and asked him for a copy, he told me I'm not entitled to see it. What can I do, because I do want a copy. I feel like he left me more than what he's telling me he left. What can i do?

Hello and welcome! My name is ***** ***** I will try my level best to help with your situation or get you to someone who can.
I need to ask a few questions before I comment..
1. Are you stating that father had a will and named you a beneficiary of his estate?
2. You mention "successor trustee"...are we talking about a trust or a will here?
3. If this is a trust, who created the trust?
4. If this is a will, has the personal representative (executor) filed a petition to open a probate case to settle the estate?
