Customer Question

Hello-My name is ***** ***** I am trying to help my mother's deceased house-keeper's daughter whon is the named beneficiary on a Nationwide retirement accout. They are telling me (Nationwide that is) that they will take 30% of the taxable income from the account pursuant to a treaty btw Chile and USA. I guess that it is not a life insurance policy which wld not be subject to taxes I don't think. Anyways, any thoughts on this?

Hello and thank you for your question.
Just to clarify the beneficiary is the named beneficiary on a retirement account and this account is in Chile and the beneficiary is in the U.S?

No retirement acct is in USA and beneficiary is named beneficiary but is from Chile and resides in Chile- not a US Citizen

I am not finding the answer for you with regard to a retirement account.
Let me opt out for another attorney to assist you. Please do not respond as that will delay receiving an answer.
