VerifiedIn 2004, my wife and her 3 brothers were reinstated in the will as beneficiaries to estate. All would get equal share of estate.
The lawyer who failed to amend the trust when he amended the will may have committed malpractice.
If the lawyer cousin drafted the will or trust there is at least the appearance of a conflict of interest. A lawyer is generally not supposed to be named as a beneficiary in a will he drafts.
You need a local attorney to review both the wills and the trust.
