This answer was rated:

Looking for bookshops in Montréal and Québec who would sell my book of French poetry.
Looking for bookshops in USA and Canada who would sell my book of English poetry.
Also looking for reviewers or critics who would give their precious commentson my poems and who would advise about the type of bookshops who might be interested in my work.

I can wait a week or two till you can put me in touch with a literary critic who writes in a well kwown newspaper of Montreal or Quebec for my French book. I also wish to get in touch with a reviewer in poetry from the U.K. or the U. S. A or OTTAWA or Toronto. As soon as I have the agreement and data of these critics I will send them a copy of my books so they can review it. I will be able to use their comments (I hope) in order to contact the bookshops and librarians so as to sell a few copies overseas. In other words my first step is to find reviewers and my second step is to find book store keepers to sell my books. I know it is not an easy task when you are a new writer all the more as nowadays poetry is not very popular. And so many people even kids are capable of writing quite brilliant poems. However I have to try my luck so as my ideas and technics should be known. You can type CHANTS DE SYLPHIDE on Facebook to find my French poetry book with a review in a West Indian magazine. I am looking forward to your reply. All the best. Elisabeth XXXXXXX.

Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX continue to look for a professional to assist you. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance while you wait.

No, that will be all for the moment. Have a good day. Elisabeth XXXXXXX.

Poetry has been growing lately in Canada as reported here in The Globe and Mail:

I would think first in order to get your book in as many hands as possible, a suggestion I could offer is to contact the independent bookstores within Canada and the US. Mainstream bookshops not often will accept books published by lesser known authors while the independent shops will buy a few, or often take a number of copies on consignment. These type of stores as well as local libraries will be much more open to possibly having you read from your book as well as having you come in to sign and sell copies after your finished.

Great list here of independent bookstores in the US:

As for reviewers that would comment on your work as well as assist you in getting assistance with books in the hands of bookstores, contacting organizations listed here would be a good first step as they have reviewers that can be of help to you. Getting published in literary magazines & other publications are a good way in having your work noticed. Sending a review copy would also be a great help.

As it sounds like you have to perform your own marketing for your book, some suggestions I can offer are:

1. Send out press releases to local newspapers, newsletters & bookshops.

2. Since your books are available online, promote by submitting it to literary & general web directories.
