It's a Catch 22. Can't get a demo without a producer and can't get a producer without a demo.
But now a literal garage band can create a professional quality cd and sell it online at cdbaby
If you have every tune completely arranged, you should not need a producer, just a recording studio with a good engineer. And you can find studios with Craigslist.
When I searched for "producer" at the Hartford CL I just got all Massachusetts and NY outfits. So producers don't advertise so much. But recording studios do.
