I have a 22 m2 timber framed backyard bungalow. It is cement

Customer Question

Hello, I have a 22 m2 timber framed backyard bungalow. It is cement roof tiled (standard pitch) on 140 x 45 pine rafters at 450 centers with collar ties.
I wish to open up a 2 meter length of wall at one corner requiring a lintel to replace the existing 90 x 35 studs at 450 centers.
This wall section is under the base of the pitch (ie. not part of the gable end ) This wall is 3 meters from center of pitch. Hopefully this is enough information to work with.
Please advise a recommended steel lintel size to meet Australian building standards in Melbourne.
Kind regards, Jim
