Customer Question
I had thyroid cancer...

I had thyroid cancer & it was removed I'm on Levothyrozic but when I my level checked earlier this week for my doctors appointment yesterday she had to 0.75 mg now it's 41 so she raised it back to 1 mg and I'll check again in May I know it's high and she said that's why I've been feeling tired and light-headed but what are so of the other side-effects

Doctor's Assistant: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?

Levothyoxin now 1 mg; Austedo 9 mg BID; Alprozolam 0.25mg BID; some vit D & E & some minerals

no, high thyroid levels--41
Endocrinologist: Dr. Saleem, Board Certified Physician replied 4 months ago

This is not thyroid level actually its the TSH level which indicates that your thyroid hormones are low so the thyroid stimulating hormone rises as more thyroid hormone is required .

So other symptoms of slow thyroid are as follows;

  • Fatigue.
  • Weakness.
  • Weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight.
  • Coarse, dry hair.
  • Dry, rough pale skin.
  • Hair loss.
  • Cold intolerance (you can't tolerate cold temperatures like those around you)
  • Muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches.

As your thyroid was removed so the body isnt making its own thyroid and that leads to rise in TSH levels (41) so it means the supplementation is insufficient and we need to increase the dose.

I hope i could explain it alright
