Customer Question
I have a question...

I have a question for an endrocrinologist and how much is the cost?

Doctor's Assistant: It can cost anywhere from $10 to $100, depending on the type of issue and how much of the Doctor's time your question is expected to take (how complex and lengthy an answer you require).

Can too much Armour trigger antibodies? and if the milligrams is lowered will the antibodies lessen?

Doctor's Assistant: Have you used this medication or anything similar before?

Switched to Armour 6 weeks ago. For years was taking synthroid, but labs kept fluctuating,

Doctor's Assistant: Have you used anything besides Synthroid for this?

No

Doctor's Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

I am presently taking 90 mg. of Armour (for 6 weeks+) and have insomnia and weight loss. I think it just needs to be lowered. Again, can you have positive antibodies if you are taking too much armour? However, I do feel better on Armour comparedbto synthroid..

too much armour will not trigger anti thyroid antibodies.

but you can get blood testing to check your anti thyroid antibodies to see if they are elevated.

armour thyroid hormone pills are not always consistent with the amount of thyroid hormone per pill

you can read about it here

https://www.healio.com/endocrinology/news/blogs/%7B930f5518-e1fb-469d-a487-1bf62fa81874%7D/thomas-b-repas-do-facp-face-cde/desiccated-thyroid-in-the-management-of-hypothyroidism-part-i

that could be why your blood tests are fluctuating.

I'm glad you are feeling well, but it is always best to dose thyroid hormone based on blood testing

make sure you take any thyroid hormone on an empty stomach with no other food or medications for 30 minutes before or after

what has your most recent TSH and T4 levels been?
