Both the readings are high.
The blood sugar reading 2 hours post meal should be 140 or below.
The reading after an hour of sugar load should be below 200.
Prednisone can push up your blood sugar and can even cause type 2 diabetes.
This is likely due to the increase gluconeogenesis and weight gain resulting in insulin resistance.
Hence, if you really have to be on prednisone ( there are other options like methotrexate to spare this side effect), then you should properly get checked for diabetes with hemoglobin a1c level and fasting blood glucose on 2 different occasions.
You should follow a low carb high protein diet.
Only complex carbs amounting less than 50 grams a day will be ideal.
Metformin can be considered as initial treatment option to improve insulin sensitivity.
It was my pleasure to help you today.
