Customer Question

Good evening all, my name is ***** ***** My doctor checked my thyroid recently and told me the right side is enlarged. I went for a thyroid ultrasound today and I'm waiting for the results. Recently, I've been having palpitations, heat intolerance, anxiety, fatigue and weakness. When I calm myself down by not stressing too much, I notice that the palpitations reduces. I am so worried that I may have Graves' disease.
I'll be getting married in about two months and don't know what to do with these symptoms. I want to feel like a person again. I feel so tired and helpless. Is there any advice any of you endocrinologists can kindly give me to reduce these symptoms?
Thank you! 😞

This is Dr. David
I have graves disease myself and it was successfully treated.
I am glad you have seen a doctor
what you need is blood testing to check your TSH and T3 and T4 levels.
if your TSH levels are low like below 0.3, you could have hyperthyroidism which can be treated with medications to slow down your thyroid gland.
beta blockers can help with heart palpitations
ultrasound test alone will not tell you if you have graves disease or not
you need blood tests to check your thyroid hormone levels
have you had these checked?
