Customer Question

When you are checking your blood sugar, does it matter which finger you prick? I have tested my sugar within 5 minutes on different fingers and have gotten readings 10+ points off? Is that normal? Or is my test equipment faulty? Or are certain fingers
more accurate?

This is Dr. David

it doesn't matter which finger you use.

it can be normal to have some variation of like 5 or 10 units in your blood glucose levels when you check within a few minutes of each other.

do you have diabetes?

you might not want to be checking so much if it is making you more anxious.
