I believe that patient confidentiality was never met at Sound Mental Health in Seattle, because the clinicians office was in an open area and side by side. I never thought about this, until today, where I gave private information to my clinician and the other clients and clinicians could hear it, but the prescriber's office was a "one on one"setting. When I was at Kaiser Permante, I met privately with both the clinician or social worker and prescriber. This causes me to think, that there's a breach of confidentiality at the Sound Mental Health office and made my information passed on, unsecure and caused issues with security of my Mental Health information passed on. I also don't believe that office currently maintains confidentiality, by practicing in an open area that is not in a designated office space. This issue has caused me great embarrassment, beyond belief and I don't believe my time and efforts were appreciated. I did group sessions and in person for "one on one", but don't believe that I spoke confidently with anyone in either setting, because the clinician setup was in an open setting with three desk like cubicles and other patients were being spoke with at the same time, they had groups going on and the room the clinicians meet patients for one on one were being used like a connecting hallway for other classrooms. This causes me to believe I was always looking over my shoulder, wondering what was going on around me and anything I shared was really private.
